BetVictor Mobile

My role – Lead UX/UI Designer
Agency — In-house
Client — BetVictor
Year — 2012-2014
Project Overview
At the time this project started no online betting company had managed to launch a native mobile app containing both sports betting and casino games. That is what we did in a native iOS application.
My Contributions
As the Lead UX/UI Designer of the app, I lead the design from initial ideas to implementation and improvements for over 2 years.
The solution
Simply creating one app to rule them all. We created an app where users only needed to log in once and have everything they need in the one app. They were able to follow and place bets on live events at the same time as they play casino games. This was the first pure native application in the online betting/gaming industry.
Scoreboard Animations
As we didn't have licenses to broadcast livestreams across all sports and markets, we wanted to add a visual representation of what happened in the events. When we did our customer research we found there was an overlap of our mobile users and those who play various football manager games. We decided to explore that and came up with these animations based on those games. This added recognition and delight to an otherwise quite transactional experience.
